Rasa Caffe serves some of the most interesting coffee in the Bay Area thanks to its Indian flavors.
Rasa Mott opened the cafe in 2013 inside a small but charming building in South Berkeley.
Rasa is Sanskrit for essence or flavor, and the menu’s Indian bent comes from Mott’s travels. That’s best showcased in the chai tea, rose latte, and Rasa Coffee, which is a latte sweetened and warmed up with cardamom.
They all display coffee’s adaptability. But the shop is also a great place to try simple Regular coffee and espresso
